As I mentioned in my Leadership Philosophy, the Five “Fs” are how I navigate everything from professional to personal. Faith, Family, Friends, Fitness (Physical & Financial), and Fun. One of my mentors ensured that we understood the purpose of them all. May your faith always guide you to do the right thing, even if no one is watching, and guide you to the Golden Rule. Family is something you can’t select but it builds your foundation as you go through life. Friends are who you call when you can’t call family. The relationship of family and friends is very similar. “Friends, how many of us have them, ones we can depend on” – Whodini 1985. Fitness is a word that defines a state of health and well-being. It is important to be in a state of health physically and financially. Live within your means and prepare for retirement because the day when you walk away from work is coming. Remaining physically fit can improve your quality of life. Fun! Put all of the “Fs” together and remember to have some fun. Life is short and before you know it you are in your late 40s. Then you are asking where the time went. Please remember these as a guide on your leadership journey.
